It was indeed a night of glamor and a moment of truth as the Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria pageant took center stage in Bayelsa state in a very colourful ambiance.
The 26th edition of the beauty pageant took place in Yenogoa,yesterday on the 20th of July, 2013 as Anna Ebiere Banner representing Bayelsa State was crowned the winner of the Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria – MBGN 2013.
With this victory, Queen Anne Ebiere will represent Nigeria at the Miss World pageant in Jakarta, Indonesia later this year.
At 18 years of age, she will be one of the youngest winners of the MBGN crown. The winner of MBGN 2012 Isabella Ayuk who was looking gracious presented her with the crown with a wish "may your reign be memorable"
Anna's victory fetched her an immediate appointment as The Special Assistant to the Bayelsa State Governor On Culture and Tourism, and Bayelsa State Ambassador on Culture And Tourism.
The top 5 finalists along with Anna Ebiere were Miss Imo (Stephanie Okwu) as first runner up, Miss Adamawa (Powede Lawrence) as second runner up, Miss Kaduna(Enoma Agboniko) as third runner up and Miss Abuja (Melissa Devidal) as fourth runner up. The 1st runner-up 19 year old Stephanie Okwu will represent Nigeria in the Miss Universe 2013 competition in Moscow, Russia while 20 year old Powede Lawrence will represent Nigeria in the Miss Tourism 2013 competition.
Other winners include, Miss Photogenic – Miss Kano, Miss Amity – Miss Bayelsa, Miss Charismatic – Tomilayo Salami (Miss Kwara) & Best Traditional Costume – Miss Bayelsa.
