A dog was arrested and charged with assault in Magistrate’s Court in Lagos, Nigeria, for biting a bank worker’s man-hood.
The dog’s owner, 31-year-old Adebowale Gabriel, was charged with negligence.
The victim, Simon Anwam, filed a criminal complaint after the dog allegedly “pounced on him and inflicted deep injury on his man-hood” while he was walking on the street.
Anwam was coming home from work when he encountered Gabriel and the dog. According to police, Anwam “was surprised when the dog jumped on him and bit his man-hood before he could be rescued from it.”
Following the attack, Anwam began to have trouble urinating and would bleed while attempting to go to the bathroom. He eventually began using a pipe to urinate.
Gabriel offered to pay for Anwam’s medical treatment before he was arrested and charged in court.
Before Gabriel and the dog were officially arraigned, Anwam apparently decided to accept his offer and prosecutor Nicholas Atumonye was informed that the parties would be settling out of court.
