Following the lifting of the ban on Student Union activities in the school, several students have joined the race to become the new SUG president. About 10 candidates are said to be vying for the position with different campaign style.
One of the candidates by name Pelumi Olajengbesi who once contested and lost in the departmental level had taken a different strategy to win the students vote. Our source revealed that he brought in a Tanker of kerosine and declared free for the university students. It was a hilarious drama as hotel students fall over themselves to have a fetch and a fill of their rubber cans and buckets.
Another candidate identified as Ben also declared free bags of sachet water, cartons of indomie, exercise books, bulbs etc. It was truly some of the needs of the undergraduates especially as the abandoned all they were doing to benefit from free for all goodies.
These incident took place yesterday and as at filling this report the candidates are initiating other styles to outdo one another. Campaign posters are said to have flooded the school and the Gwagwalada university community.
